Purchase Fuzzi bunz~One-Size Cloth Diaper White

I have six of these fuzzibuns one size diapers and eight of the bumgenius. My son is two months old, and at this point I prefer the bumgenius, but both are good. The snaps on the fuzzibuns are great for durability versus velcro, but there are three snaps on each tab that you need to fit on to two rows of snaps on the front, which can be confusing. It's no problem once you have a system, but if you have someone who is easily overwhelmed who will be changing diapers I wouldn't recommend it. My father really can't handle it and much prefers the ease of the velcro.
The fuzzibuns inserts are less thick but they seem to do the job well enough for daytime. The only problem I've had is that the holes for the seams around the edges of the diaper can leak (haven't noticed this with bumgenius). Both types of cloth diapers hold in poop better than disposables -- I haven't had a blowout with these.
Neither type of one size diaper fit my son until he was close to ten pounds. I did disposables before that, but I would suggest that you go ahead and buy some small all-in-ones since the cost came out pretty much the same. It seems like they will expand to fit him through potty training though, so I should save a good amount of money (and waste!) by then.

Another option I like is to use the Bummis Superbrite covers with cloth inserts. You only need 3-4 covers and you can wipe them out and just replace the insert at changing, which makes them compact and portable. The only problem is they don't come in white.

Good luck!
